Secrets of Strixhaven Story: Students Become Leaders
Secrets of Strixhaven takes place years after the events of the original set. The students you met in 2021 have graduated — and some of them have become the new heads of Strixhaven's five colleges. The storyline is part of the Metronome arc, MTG's current narrative thread, and is the third chapter in that story.
Releasing alongside the set is Strixhaven: Omens of Chaos, a new young-adult novel by Seanan McGuire. Each copy of the novel comes with a foil Retro Frame Command Tower promo card — making it a solid pickup for Commander players and novel collectors alike.
The Mystical Archive Returns
One of the most popular features of the original Strixhaven — the Mystical Archive bonus sheet — is back for Secrets of Strixhaven. These are powerful reprinted spells appearing as special inserts in booster packs, each with its own distinct frame treatment.
Each Mystical Archive card will have a unique English and Japanese frame variant, printed in the new Silver Scroll foil treatment — a premium finish not seen in MTG since Lord of the Rings. Expect these to be the most sought-after pulls in the set.

Complete Product Guide
Secrets of Strixhaven has one of the largest product lineups of any 2026 MTG set. Here's every product, who it's for, and what's inside:
Play Booster Box
The standard entry point for the set. Each Play Booster contains 14 cards, including potential hits from the Mystical Archive and Special Guest cards. Best for drafting, building a collection, and chasing rares on a budget. Great for game nights and Draft Night events.

Collector Booster Box (12 Packs)
The premium product for collectors and investors. Collector Boosters are the only place to find the rarest card treatments in Secrets of Strixhaven — including Silver Scroll foil Mystical Archive cards, borderless treatments, and extended-art cards. If you're chasing the most valuable pulls or holding sealed product as an investment, this is your box. Collector Booster boxes rarely see additional print runs, which means sealed boxes tend to appreciate quickly if the set performs well on the secondary market.

Commander Decks (5 Decks — One Per College)
Five Commander precon decks, each representing one of Strixhaven's legendary colleges: Lorehold, Prismari, Quandrix, Silverquill, and Witherbloom. This time around, the face commanders are beloved characters from the original set who have since become college leaders. Notable highlight: Quintorius, History Chaser (Lorehold) is already generating buzz as a new planeswalker Commander with serious infinite combo potential.
Bundle ($57.99 MSRP)
Contains 9 Play Boosters, 30 lands (15 foil, 15 non-foil), a promo card, a storage box, a spindown D20, and two reference cards. A great gift option and a reliable value pick for players who want to crack packs without going all-in.

Codex Bundle ($89.99 MSRP) — NEW
The most exciting new product in the Secrets of Strixhaven lineup. What's inside: 6 Play Boosters, 2 Collector Boosters, 20 foil basic lands, 1 Codex Booster (with 2 full-art foil promo cards), 1 spindown D20. Note: The Codex Bundle has a later release date of May 15, 2026 — three weeks after the main set launch.

Draft Night ($89.99 MSRP)
Everything you need to run a draft at home. Includes 12 Play Boosters, 90 basic lands, and 1 Collector Booster. Perfect for game nights with 4–8 players.

Theme Decks (2 Decks — $23.99 MSRP each)
Ready-to-play 60-card Standard decks designed for newer players and gift buyers. Two new Theme Decks arrive with Secrets of Strixhaven.

Prerelease Pack
Five college-themed Prerelease packs — one per school — available exclusively during Prerelease week (April 17–23). Each contains Play Boosters and a stamped rare promo card. Only available through WPN local game stores during Prerelease week.
